
On Aug. 11 !973 DJ Kool Herc hosted a party which will forever change the spectrum of how we would listen to music forever. Hip hop heads and historians alike attributes this to hip-hop's birth. Some 40 years later we still celebrate the music that has had a lasting impact not only in the tri state area but the world as well.

Hip hop has not only made major impact with in music culture but has also played a major influences with the dance, fashion and art community as well. In honor of Hip hop's birth a special event was held at First Avenue street park to celebrate . Graff writers and muralist from across New York came to pay tribute and create some really cool murals. Urban Art Fair
What better place to launch an urban art show than the birth place of graffiti. The urban art fair fair decided to open their first art show at Spring Studios in lower Manhattan. The week long event featured street art from 30 International galleries as well as appearances from New York local galleries. Exhibits include a diverse range of street art, high end art , as well as unique fashion exhibit influence by the urban arts.
